Fluorine Deficiency

ID 105

Fluorine Deficiency

This condition can lead to dental concerns and increased risk of osteoporosis, as fluorine is part of the structure of teeth and bones which protects them from degeneration. Fluorine helps decrease tooth cavities and strengthens bones, which can prevent fractures. The amount of fluorine needed by the body is at least 1.5 mg up to 4 mg. Fluorine Deficiency can be prevented by eating foods rich in fluorine, like sardines and salmon, teas and coffees, rice and buckwheat, apples and grapefruits, and oats and corn. It is also very important to limit the amount of fluorine ingested as too much can be toxic.
