Fluorine Toxicity
Ingesting too much fluorine can lead to poisoning. Long term exposure to high amounts of fluorine can lead to osteoporosis and even paralysis. Fluorine can be ingested from foods including certain kinds of fish, coffees and corns. It can also come from household products like toothpaste and vitamins. Accidental ingestion of insecticides is also one of the causes of fluorine toxicity. Symptoms of fluorine toxicity may appear instantaneously upon ingestion and may affect the gastrointestinal track. Fluorine toxicity can form acid in the stomach and may irritate the gastrointestinal track or cause its walls to corrode.
