Eyes: Corneal Ulcers
The cornea is the clear tissue at the front of the eye. A corneal ulcer is an erosion or open sore in the outer layer of the cornea, caused by an infection. Corneal ulcers are most commonly caused by an infection with a bacteria, viruses, fungi, or parasites. Symptoms include blurry vision, red or bloodshot eyes, itchiness and discharge, photophobia (sensitivity to light), and painful and watery eyes.
