Oral Fungal Infection (Oral Thrush)
Oral thrush is an infection of the mouth caused by the Candida albicans fungus. This condition can cause creamy white lesions to appear on the tongue and inner cheeks. The lesions can be painful and may bleed when scraped. Oral thrush is more likely to occur in babies and people who wear dentures, use inhaled corticosteroids or have compromised immune symptoms.
