Erythema multiforme is a skin disorder. It is a type of hypersensitivity reaction which occurs in response to medicines, infections, or illness. While the exact cause is unknown, medications that can cause the reaction include Baarbiturates, Penicillins, Phenytoin, and Sulfonamides. Symptoms include fever, itchy skin, joint aches, malaise, and skin lesions. The lesions may have a central sore surrounded by pale pink or red rings.
