Skin: Superficial Burrows (Fine, Wavy Lines 1-10mm Long)

ID 3782

Small superficial burrows (fine, wavy lines between 1-10mm long) are present on the buttocks, lower abdomen, wrist, forearm, genital area, or webbing between the fingers. The burrows are caused by a mite called Sarcoptes scabiei. These mites burrow into the skin where they live and reproduce. Mite droppings in the skin can cause severe itching. In addition to the burrows, raised red bumps may be present.
