Xerostomia, or dry mouth, is the feeling that there isn't enough saliva in the mouth. It can lead to bad breath (halitosis) as well as cause difficulties in swallowing, speaking, tasting and chewing. It can also increase the changes of developing tooth decay. Xerostomia involves a dry feeling in the mouth which can often involve sensations in the mouth such as stickiness, burning, a rough tongue, and mouth sores.
